Variants

Variants without operational chaos

Each size and colour combination is a distinct SKU, and it has to stay correctly identified through receiving, storage and fulfillment.

A range that reads as one product on a website is a grid of separate stock items in a warehouse. Grouping them as one product is where apparel operations go wrong: the wrong size ships, the count is right but the variant is not, and the return comes back as a customer service problem rather than a picking one.

Each combination is received, counted and picked as its own item, so what is on the shelf and what the customer ordered describe the same thing.

Garment quality

The approved sample becomes the reference

Once you sign off a sample, that garment is the specification. Production is checked against it rather than against a description, which is the only way a drift in measurements, fabric or colour gets caught before the stock goes live.

Depending on the garment and its specification, checks may include measurements, fabric, stitching, seams, colour against the approved reference, labelling and finishing. Production-stage inspection is quality control and production follow-up.

Branding

From garment to finished brand

How the garment arrives is part of the product. Labels, care labels, hangtags and outer packaging are produced against your artwork and held with the stock.

Fulfillment

Built around variants

Picking apparel is a variant problem before it is a volume problem.

Size / colour SKUPickBranded presentationCustomer

Orders ship with the presentation the brand specified rather than in whatever carton is nearest. Day-to-day order flow runs on dropshipping fulfillment.

Apparel returns at a higher rate than most categories because fit is subjective. Returned units are inspected before they go back into sellable stock rather than being restocked on arrival, that is returns and after-sales support.

Questions

Fashion FAQs

Can Neofulfill source clothing manufacturers in China?
Yes. Manufacturer identification, sampling and production follow-up run through China Sourcing, assessed against the garment, the fabric and the finish you are asking for rather than on price alone.
How do you handle size and colour variants?
Every size and colour combination is treated as its own SKU, with its own stock position and its own inbound check. A five-size range in three colours is fifteen items to keep straight, and they stay identified separately through receiving, storage and picking rather than being grouped as one product.
What do you check during apparel quality control?
Checks are chosen for the garment and its specification rather than applied as one routine. Depending on the piece they can cover measurements against the spec sheet, fabric, stitching, seams, colour against the approved reference, labelling and finishing, and the condition of the outer packaging. The approved sample is the reference production is compared against. Production-stage inspection is quality control and production follow-up.
Can you add labels, hangtags and branded packaging?
Yes, woven or printed labels, care labels, hangtags and the outer packaging the garment arrives in, produced against your artwork and held with the stock. The detail is on Custom Packaging and Custom Branding & Private Label.
Can Neofulfill support private-label fashion brands?
Yes. That ranges from putting your brand on an existing garment through to developing a garment to your own specification and measurements. The distinction between the routes is on Custom Branding & Private Label and Private Label, OEM & ODM.
